DIRECTIONS
Spin coating:
Apply coating to center of substrate (quantity determined by size of area to be coated). Use a minimum of 300 RPM for approximately one minute to achieve one mil dry film thickness. Lower spinning speeds will result in a thicker film, requiring longer (in excess of 10 minutes) drying time. |
Spraying:
Coating is ready to spray and does not require further reduction. Spray one to two coats, or until a dried film thickness of approximately one mil is achieved. Applying more than the recommended film thickness will require longer (in excess of 10 minutes) drying time. |
Dipping:
Media may be dipped in coating material as is. No reduction is required. A dried film thickness of approximately one mil is recommended. Applying more than the recommended film thickness will require longer (in excess of 10 minutes) drying time. |
During application, prevent build-up of vapors by opening all windows and doors to promote sufficient cross ventilation. Do not breath dust, vapors or spray mist. Ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. Trylaner recommends wearing an appropriate, properly fitted respirator (NIOSH approved) during and after spray application.
SILITECT II will cure tack-free within 10 minutes after application. This is dependent upon temperature, humidity and thickness of coating. Deviations from application directions will require adjustments in the curing times, as well as in the stripability parameters.
Curing may be accelerated by forced drying at 110 ° Fahrenheit (43 ° C) for three to seven minutes. It is imperative that SILITECT II be thoroughly cured and dry, with no solvent odor being emitted before an attempt is made to strip the coating from the substrate. Substrates should not be stored in airtight containers until the SILITECT II is completely cured.
